Waltham, MA—The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the turkey cobb kid’s salad.
This specialty dish, created by Waltham resident and chef German Lam, was a hit yesterday at Fitzgerald Elementary School.
Members of Healthy Waltham, who recently hired Lam to work with the district’s cafeteria staff to add more fresh produce to school lunch menus, even put it to a vote.
The 312 students who tried the dish voted on Lam’s concoction, which featured turkey, greens and cranberries sprinkled with an orange juice-infused Italian vinaigrette.
The ballot asked: Would you try this food again? And 209 voted yes, 45 voted maybe and 58 said no.
